FORREX Forum for Research and Extension in Natural Resources is a British Columbia-based charitable organization,
founding in 1998 to help people develop science and
knowledge-based innovative solutions to natural resource
management challenges. Through the contributions of our
staff, Partners, and funders, we link people to knowledge,
and facilitate continuous innovation and improvements in
natural resource management – practices that greatly
influence the ecological, social, and economic well-being of
our communities. We believe that knowledge can make a the
greatest difference when it is shared, empowering people to
make more informed decisions. Today, FORREX Forum for Research and Extension in Natural Resources is recognized by
clients, Partners, and organizations for it valuable
contribution to an innovative resource sector, and is
considered an agent of positive change.
FORREX Forum for Research and Extension in Natural Resources facilitates knowledge-based solutions by:
• Integrating science, experiential and Indigenous
knowledge into natural resource management to promote
sustainable ecosystem management practices;
• Establishing long-term investments in science and
learning about managing our natural resources; and
• Building our learning capacity through the effective
use of research, technology and knowledge transfer, and
extension education.
FORREX Forum for Research and Extension in Natural Resources recognizes the unique challenges of small tenure and
